It's ONE of the keys but it depends how many keys you need and how many locks there might be. It also depends on who's doing the equity analysis: the brand owner or the end user.
Differing ends of the scale will give you wild variants in terms of your answer.

It also depends n the niche and on the attitudes of those serving the niche and on those being served by the niche.

For an entrepreneur who wants to give back, CSR can be important. For someone who simply wants to focus on profit, it'll be less important. One of the differences will show up in company status: S. Corp, LLC, B. Corp ... take your pick.

Really? The most important elements in brand equity are probably value notion, solution ratio, and social validation.

It also depends on the nature of the question you're posing, how you're going to frame it, and what you'll do with the findings and what other people will do with them.

I am afraid you got it wrong !!!!CSR is Corporate social responsibility is a well known concept and term in the business arena I think you should rather read and help me to think of how to approach my thesis than to stir up funny ideas

Phil didn't get it wrong. Many of the latest terms that include the word "social" have not yet passed the test of time. Perhaps "Corporate Social Responsibility" will live for another decade or so, perhaps not. It's a new term (acronym), but not a new concept.

I'd written a much longer version of this ... but here's the short version: I don't think Phil's wrong either ... and you might want to adjust that attitude ... just a tad.
