Unexplained Phenomena Project - The Book

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
We are an artist collaborative and have been creating imagery for our project "unexplained phenomena project", a series of images that explore the unexplained in the world as an artistic examination, very much tongue in cheek. Our mission statement perhaps says it best..."unexplained phenomena is a collaboration between artists Victor Raphael and David Jordan Williams. The series includes images from around the world and explores extraordinary mysterious encounters with the unknown. unexplained phenomena project hopes to elicit in the viewer the idea that we should not rule out the unexplained or the exceptional when considering what is real and what we know". Our ultimate goal as artists is to have the project shown in a gallery and the works becoming readily identified cultural icons that will in turn allow for products to be created that help propel the unexplained phenomena project idea into a much larger market.

Our initial efforts have afforded us certain recognition and we have respect from the art / photography community but it has been slow going and we are looking to kick this into high gear. Currently we have produced some 37 final hi resolution digital files of the art and have put together a book being sold through Blurb.com and we have a poster and note cards ready for production. We would love to hear suggestions and strategies, places to look, contacts etc. that we can pursue.

This is a great project with the potential of becoming a great platform for commenting on our times and on pop culture. Thanks in advance for all help, connections, suggestions, links.

David Jordan Williams and Victor Raphael

https://theupp.com
our hadrcover book > https://www.blurb.com/my/book/detail/3965901-unexplained-phenomena-project&... />the ebook version > https://store.blurb.com/ebooks/368818-unexplained-phenomena-project

Well, you have done the research. Let's get down to some practical mysteries, shall we? Because deep down in the subconscious of all humans is the desire to know what happens after you open a book on Unexplained Phenomena.

No, usually they are asking other questions like "is your dealer on speed-dial?" or "where's the nearest alehouse?". There are a few who are intrigued by the idea that not everything in life acts like a billiard ball. People who think food is more than tanking up. People who think that thinking is more than adding up sums in your head.

So what is this emotion that lead them to ask "what does happen inside the pyramid of Cheops at the spring equinox?" instead. I reckon if you can ask the questions that your book answers a simple display or PPC campaign would work a treat.

That and a Facebook page of course.

Based on your "certain recognition", who is most likely to connect to your images? How old? What gender? Living where? What income level? What other hobbies/interests are they likely to have? The answers to these (and more) questions will lead to you to a community of people who might become fans, and spread the love of your work. But first, you need to identify them and then get your work in front of them. It's the rare business that can go from unknown to well-known overnight. Learn to walk first, then find more communities of people, and repeat your connection to them.

Many, many thanks for your council and for receiving this project with an open mind and a joyful heart. You both have quite literally opened our eyes and given my partner and myself a new perspective. We will begin the process of reaching out to the intelligent and the playful out there with a targeted and imaginative campaign.
