We will need more info before we can help you. Please provide more details about type of video services you are doing (are you shooting the video, editing the video, etc.), location, etc.

And maybe some background as to why you decided to open this service? That would help us understand who you are and what you bring to video service, which will help us suggest where you could go.

I would like to add that since you're setting up in business you will have some experience in video.

Well, you'd be knitting pullovers otherwise, wouldn't you? My point is that you're not setting up in business on a whim - you've got some experience and no doubt some specialties too.

Your problem is that you don't know quite what they are - nor do you know who wants them.

Ummm ... well that was your question, right?

So let's put this all the other way around. Because you're in business to serve. You know what you do and so on. We'll take a stroll down memory lane for a moment: what did your colleagues tell you you were good at? What kinds of feedback did you get when you were in work (or working for others)

What do your friends say about you (including negative remarks).

If you don't know, just ask them - colleagues, bosses and friends! Really, most of them will be excited about your new biz and be more than happy to help. Do a SWOT analysis on the feedback.

Then do a Google of your preferred business angle. Look at what's being offered. Look at the first TEN pages of Google. Check it all out and again, do a SWOT of it.

Take the two pages of results. Whittle them down to the essentials - the things that stand out.

And work out who needs that - who needs this result, why do they need it and when? Knowing this with some clever reverse-engineering of the psychology - and you have a customer profile.

It's hard work. It will get you results that you can use as soon as you get them.

    Does this help?

You probably could use some business and marketing guidance. Where are you located? What prior experience do you have? Who might hire you, and why? What important and unique benefit do you deliver?
