Seminar Marketing Ideas

Posted by larry.sebbens on 25 Points
We are a wealth management firm that offers free investment seminars on a variety of topics. We do not charge for the seminars nor do we charge for an analysis of attendees financial plans.

The seminars are conducted by individual advisors. Are there any ideas to increase attendance as we normally only get 2-3 prospects per seminar. We've tried advertising them on the radio, they are listed on our website. Other than that, the advisors are responsible to put bodies in the seats. Do you need to offer more of a catch? Wine tasting? Fashion show? Bring in unrelated speakers?

For this kind of event, radio is a waste of money. Your best bet is to partner with CPAs and estate planners: you promote their events, they promote yours.

Let's take this in another direction altogether. Google's display network is as good a place to start as any. There aren't that many specialists around, but you can do it for yourself if you're careful. It'll take some learning and a little practice - once you've mastered that it'll be half an hour a week.

The point is that the reach of this network is enormous and is targetable to demographics and just about anything else. You can establish hotspots by carefully checking where your best leads come from. Howie Jacobson and Perry Marshall both deal with the display network, both have books. Both are worth reading as they have rock-solid advice. https://perrymarshall.com and https://askhowie.com

The new Facebook algorithm in the US could be good too. You can literally dump your entire mailing list into it and see what it comes up with. I'm waiting for it to be rolled out across Australasia ... then I'll be busy! Further info on this https://isfbforme.com it's an online test and you gets a free chapter of Perry Marshall's book on facebook too. Gives you a sniff of what it's like. Even if Fb isn't any good for you, you can use it to prime your display network campaigns.
