Feedback On Web Based Marketing Pm Tools

Posted by eeb1 on 125 Points
I am the Director of Marketing for a mid-sized company in the aerospace / defense market. I am looking to utilize a web-based Marketing Project Management and Collaboration tool as many of my 'resources' are internal to our company and have marketing as a component of their roles and responsibility. I am managing budgets, timelines and - of course - tasks.

My ideal solution would allow collaboration with internal resources (10 people), but give me the flexibility to securely collaborate with external resources as well. I would function as the overall project manager / approver. The system should also be able to support dependencies within the workflow between users.

A built in calendar with reminders and tracking (for me) for projects spanning our Inbound and Outbound (yes, we still do some of that) efforts is a must.

In a recent search, I uncovered products from RoboHead, MarcomCentral and At Task. While I have not performed a comprehensive analysis up to this point, I am interested in feedback from the community and/or experts on this subject as I'd like to have a tool in place before the beginning of CY14.

I'm not sure if it matters or not, but we are using Salesforce.com as our CRM as well as Sharepoint. While it would be nice to accept inputs from our sales and BD team using a 'portal', we are a meetings based culture, so the Marketing team (me) usually receives our request to support sales initiatives in a face to face meeting, which - using this software - I would like to immediately enter, assign resources / budget, set a timeline and then start tracking.

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked out Wrike.com? Our marketing firm has been using this software for several years now and it works great. I am the project manager and I have found that Wrike allows me to easily track all projects, create timelines, enter tasks, assign resources, etc. I am able to share folders and tasks internally with our staff based on who is working on a particular project. I am also able to grant access to folders to our clients if they need the ability to see what we are working on and track the progress of their project.
