    Roy Young,

I'll deal with part two of your question. In order to get the attention of the best experts on KHE like SRyan, Jett, Jbtron and some of the others you need to consider the following...Although they are motivated by points they "are not" primarily motivated by points. They are smart people in that they do not try to answer every question based on price (read points) but they answer questions based on their level of experience with the subject matter.

The best way to get them involved in your question is to ask a very interesting question that appeals to their experience. Don't become disenchanted if they do not participate because sometimes they are just simply trying to earn a living.

To answer your question as it relates to points that get attention...I would normally say that a question over 500 will begin to draw eye attention right off the bat from most people. BUT if the question is outside their experience or IF the question is too controversial or even titled incorrectly you may not get too many people who want to even touch it.
I hope this answers your question.

Also we have talked a lot about google over the last several months. You can try putting Google in the "Search Box". I'm sure you will find something about but I am not quite sure if you will find the level of specific detail. Thanks for joining us. Is there anything else I can do for you?

Roy, I took the liberty of editing your question title. Perhaps it will help you get the input you're seeking.

Being one of the MP staffers, you probably already know that traffic here slows down on weekends. Give it a couple of days...

I will be interested in following this thread, because I've been curious about Google Answers myself. Good luck!

What's wild is that just yesterday I stumbled on the Google Answers Service and was wondering who would use it and how it's being marketed to consumers who use the Internet anyway.

Interesting question. Can't wait to read your article.

Thanks for your question. I had never used Google Answers before... but over the weekend, I have been trying to help my son with his statistics class, and having difficulty finding a good and detailed explanation of Minitab output... until I tried Google answers. I paid nothing (simply searched closed questions).

One way to attempt to answer your question about "the right amount" would be to look at average amounts for closed questions - for example, if you do a search of closed questions containing the word "the" (to get a broad cross section) you can page thru many pages of responses and look at the dollar values. It looks to me as though a payment in the $25 to $35 range will put you well within the upper quartile.

From a quick glance at some of the higher-priced questions, I would assume that questions which draw on someone's previous knowledge would generally be a bit lower priced, while questions which require original research (e.g. find a list of high-end health clubs in Florida) would justify a higher price.
