University Student Social Networking Website

Hey Guys, Please help me to market my website ? i have created a small plateform for student where student can connect with other students from the same or different universities and socialise by adding student society events for your university and friends.

Discuss course ideas, resources or questions you may have with fellow students on your course or similar courses at other universities.

Socialise with friends from your or other universities, set up society and course events and share them with friends easily.

please give me your comment how can i market this website and get more student to use?

i am not trying to be next mark zuckerberg its just small plateform for student which will help them to communicate with each other.

    Why is your platform a better way for them to connect than using their favorite social media platform? How do you know?

    Thank you for the reply.

    Well as i said i am not doing anything different ... but it has a same features which other social networking have the layout of the website is more userfriendly then other.

    we have news feed which is connected to everything, like in the discussion if you discussion any topic it will show to all the user so everyone can reply..

    basically what i mean is if any student have any issues related to their project or assignment. if every of the student use this website they can get the answer straight forward.

    i dont have any users as i have recently make my project live, i have created the facebook and twitter account but i am not good in marketing or dont know what should i do to get more students to my website ?

    You are thinking about marketing backwards. Marketing isn't something you do at the end of a product development project. It's what you do FIRST ... to learn about your target audience, what they want and need, their values, beliefs, habits, practices, attitudes and awareness ... so you can design your product, awareness campaign, distribution and pricing to maximize your chances of success.

    Your best bet is to go back to the beginning and learn about your prospective customers. Then tweak the product and develop a marketing plan that will achieve your objective.

    Build a presence and community on Facebook and Twitter that you then drive (gently) to your site with useful, relevant, salient, compelling content.
