How To Operate Mobile Carwash (1unit) Within A City

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm coming with a startup of Mobile CarWash. However as all startups have, I too have money crunch. So I can't afford to have more than one mobile unit within my city. The total area I'll be covering is 60km radius and huge traffic during peak hours.
Can anyone suggest a legit strategy to operate this smoothly
My options:
1. Shall I consider increasing mobile units?
2. Shall I divide serviceable areas into zones along with days (e.g. Sunday: South zone; Monday: North zone etc)
3. Others (pls mention if you suggest something else)

You might start by focusing on just one or two zones, as long as you are convinced the zone(s) include enough target consumers to keep you plenty busy. It's better to capture 100% of a small market than 0.0001% of a huge one.

Once you have achieved your share objective in the early zone(s) you can add units and expand to nearby zones.

Starting with one zone might be an option. However if i showcase my business as 'Car Car At Doorstep', it has clear message that I'm available. Also as we are doing waterless car wash too, so reaching out like 'shopping malls, parking lot, anywhere & everywhere'. So this is kind of USP. however what i could do is zoning (due to lesser units) which i had thought of.

Here's a trick that startups have used to make people think that they are a larger organization than they are: put an obvious truck number on the sides and back of your truck. However, put different numbers on each side and on the back. For example: "Unit 12", "Unit 5", and "Unit 23" can be on all sides of your truck. People seeing the same truck from different angles will perceive that you have many trucks in your "fleet". Sometimes perception is all you need to create confidence in your services.

Jay, that's a cool idea. However will that solve my problem? Would want a solution where i can manage things smoothly(may be initial days i might have lower bookings, but as it goes higher or say if it goes higher then what should be my measure. as because i might have pretty less reaction time that moment)
