Clever Tagline Ideas

Posted by j9martyna on 250 Points
I am trying to come up with a clever tagline for our company. I want something smart and relevant, not obvious.

We specialize in providing retail technology, data, and services to businesses that offer some type of retail offering, but it is not their core business so they aren't particularly good at it. Think hotels with little lobby stores, gymnastics gyms with pro shops, etc.

Our logo looks much like a red power on button.

Our name is Impulsify - an action word related to Impulse buys. We use terms like "Impulsify your store." "Impulsify your retail."

We have looked at ideas like:
Retail Empowered.
Powerful Retail.
Powered by Retail.

But nothing is giving me that "aha" moment.

Any ideas?

Since "impulsify" is a made-up name, the tagline should probably reference the BENEFIT a client would realize if they retain your services. Perhaps it's a new or enhanced revenue stream, or greater customer loyalty/retention, etc.

"Impulsify" by itself doesn't convey who is in the target audience ("Is this message relevant to me?") or what the benefit for them might be ("What's in it for me?"). It needs some explanation. And many of your prospective clients may not even think of themselves as being in the retail business.

Tagline example: "Increase revenue and customer loyalty"

As your company name has no meaning it's difficult to connect a benefit-based trait or quality to it.
As Michale outlines above, your ideal client needs to know what's in their relationship with you for them.
    Can you tell us more?

Thanks for the comments logged so far. I agree the tagline needs to be clear on what we do, but we want it to be more clever than obvious. "Empower your Retail " is definitely the right direction. Implies our business is making better retail and ties to our logo/icon. Thanks, Mike.

" ... we want it to be more clever than obvious".

    You are not your customer.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news here but what you want, like, think, or believe is largely irrelevant.

Implying your business is doing X, Y, or Z is not the point. You need CLARITY here. Prospects and buyers seldom respond to uncertainty.
