Thinking of your target market, which of your competitors are they using? How do you compare to their prices, services, and products?

What city are you located in? How many direct competitors do you have? How many indirect competitors do you have? What surveys have you done with your existing customers to identify the points that they like about dealing with you? What were the results? Do you have an online presence, eg a website? Do you coordinate advertising in local print media or direct to customers with your online advertising? Have you actually drafted up and had senior management approval for a detailed marketing plan that can address your concerns about lack of foot traffic through your door? What actions have you taken already to influence local realtors and house builders?

The question you are asking involves responses at many levels. We need more information about your present marketing strategy & operations so we can make suggestions for improvements that will help you.

You have bundled several issues into your question. Let's unpack it:

First, who is your primary target audience? Where? (Have you performed a SWOT analysis for your business?)

Next, why should your target audience prefer you over your competition? What unique and compelling benefit can they expect from you?

Why do you think you are not getting enough foot traffic? Is it your location?

Which of your competitors is particularly strong with the segments you want to target? How did they get there? Was it through direct sales contact, or is it some feature of their product offering?
