I am donating 50 points and invite everybody else to match me and submit your best reasons to convince our friends at MarketingProfs that WE NEED SPELL CHECK :).

    Hi, Bill --

That's already one of the features on the KHE wish list, but during the past 8 months the offline user group picked some higher development priorities for the MarketingProfs team. The result? Some enhancements that have come to fruition include:

    » Urgent question status
    » Resource Library
    » Post a Project

We put spell check way down low on the totem pole because it's got zero revenue-generating potential, and because we HOPE (or wish??) that kronickly bad spellers would use their own desktop tools to check their work. Also, the process already allows a member to review/edit their posting before making it final.

Frankly, I don't think spell checking on the forum will help much. We have many non-English speaking members who struggle already with "perfect" messages, but they're doing well enough for most of us to get their meaning.

And then there's the influx of students and txt-spk writers who insist on using shorthand, pls and thk u, throwing another monkey wrench into ur suggestion. One of them went so far as to tell us that he shouldn't be chastized for using his highly evolved method of communicating. (May E.B. White and Darwin save us!!)

As an alternative to adding spell check to KHE, someone has recommended IESpell in the Resource Library, I believe.

Don't let this discourage you from posting other suggestions. Val's keeping a list of ALL ideas!

One option that doesn't require MP to spend resources upgrading their system would be to promote products like IESpell (https://www.marketingprofs.com/ea/res_detail.asp?resID=23), which is a spell checker that can be added to one's IE. I use it, and find it very useful.
