My name is Matt and I am just graduating from a post grad program in marketing that specializes in Database marketing, Data Analysis and a host of other subjects. This is a college program that is offered in Toronto Canada. Soon I will be looking for an iternship and have a few promising leads in Coca Cola Canada and a few other companies. I want to get into Brand management in some capacity. I have found my program focuses way too much on technical processes like Data Analysis and quantative research methods. I am not sure if this is giving me the needed background for brand managment. We have covered some branding analysis but I am not sure it has gone into enough detail. Being a college program some say an MBA is needed. I have a universtiy background and can easily do that however I would rather not. If anyone can give advice for someone coming out of school and looking to land that first job please let me know. If anyone knows of a good place to start acquiring the needed skills please let me know.
Thanks.
Matt
