How Did You Benefit From Ideas In This Forum

We all believe this forum is of great value to our learning and businesses. I would be interested to hear success (and failure stories) of various people who have called here for help.

Did you get a new business idea here which is working for you?
Have you gotten solutions that you implemented in your marketing department?
How else have you benefited?

Please be as specific as possible. There are points to be offered but just do it even if not for points sake.

    Dear Sammy,

    As a marketing professor, I benefit a lot from this forum: it keeps me up-to-date on real-life business problems across a broad range of industries and topics (i.e. not just related to my in-depth consultancy projects), and stimulates my thinking in research and the MBA-classroom! I specifically enjoyed questions on the marketing mindset (eg 'Microsoft Marketing Mindset?'), marketing metrics/dashboard questions (which help me to design a better 'Marketing ROI' course); and questions that challenge conventional wisdom (eg 'Audience Reach and Frequency Minimum?') and are tough puzzles to solve...

    Wao. It is amazing that you guys whom I really admire are the ones who have learnt so much from this forum. Your answers to various dillemas and questions have been quit helpful to many. I can then confidently say those who give in this forum recieve alot in return.

    So come on lets help each other.

    Let me share one question I posted in this forum. I was launching for the first time in the field of writing. I sort ideas from this forum and guess what the sample work I did based on ideas I got in response of the question led to the sample work being published unedited. I now have a contributing arrangement with the magazine for the next six months.

    I'm personally a specialist in just one area of marketing - participation in this forum helps me see a bit more of the "big picture".

    This forum helps me look like i am smart :P

    It lets me gain the edge( which is getting very shape ) over my fellow students. Eg it helps me add the extra little bit of info that the lecturer doesn't know, which always gets you a good mark.

    I have learned a great deal in my short marketing career mostly from this forum (and improved my spelling ?)

    Great stories. Spurring creativity and entreprenuership, solving real business and career problems, high-lighting new marketing knowledge frontieers. This is the best marketing forum anywhere, online or offline. Let us keep on asking and answering questions here. Lets keep on reading the contributions. Let us tell the whole world of marketing about it for who knows which other expert ideas are we missing.

    Hi, I just started working for a venture capital firm and was thrown into the marketing department. This site has given me the ability not only to ask all the questions i want but has also given me a wealth of knowledge through reading the blogs and just reading other peoples q & a's. I recently got a bonus for a logo and slogan i developed!!!I love this site and i am recommending it to anyone i can:)
