What Are The Benefits To Phone Headsets?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I just started as the telemarketing manager for a 35 year old company that has never used phone headsets for their telemarketers. I know my telemarketers need them because it will help them work the phones better. But I need a stronge argument for management that's tight with the purse strings to buy them for me.

    Hi Scotg,

I'm confused, unless you don't have computers, why would you not want headsets? Ever try typing with one hand? Next, ask your management to try typing with one hand, and writing a note with the other, while holding a phone. Oh, that's right, we only have two hands, but I guess that's what shoulders and the head tilt are for.

    Good luck.

    scotg,

    It's real simple.

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS...
Here's is what you do scotg. When you sit down to talk to your boss about why it's a good idea put a pair of headphones on in front of them and hold your hands high real high in the air and say with a smile

    "HANDS FREE",
    you see
    when my hands are free,
I can help YOU and I can help ME!

After this there really should be no further argument. Is there anything else I can do for you?

I would have though OHS compliance would be the stick, efficiency is the carrot. Go see your local donkey!

Can't believe any employer would not apreciate the workplace ergonomic factors, they sound Dickensian.

I would suggest if no headsets, go somewhere where worker health is actually valued by the employer.
