    Hi LFogle,

The best one out there is by Seth Godin, called 'Really Bad PowerPoint" and you are in luck because he is giving it away for free.

    Here you go:

Good PowerPoint presentations are good presentations, with PowerPoint in a supporting role. If they're really good, they'd be really good with or without PowerPoint.

Your best bet is to develop a compelling story and practice delivery until you can do it in your sleep. Don't let the PowerPoint aspect take center stage.

That's like a carpenter asking for articles on effective use of a saw. The skill isn't in the tool; it's in the head (and hands) of the craftsman.

P.S. I haven't read the article by Seth Godin, but I'll bet it says something similar. Too many people rely on the tool (PowerPoint, in this case) to cover up the fact that their message isn't very compelling, or it isn't well thought-through, or they're lousy presenters.

OK. I went and read the article by Seth Godin, and I quickly realized that I had read it before ... either in "The Big Red Fez" or in "Free Prize Inside" (or both).

He's right on. (Maybe that's because I agree with him, or he agrees with me.)

Don't become a slave to PowerPoint. Tell a story that sells your point of view, and use PowerPoint for punctuation.

    LFogle...

...and here's a link to a company that specialises in transforming boring PowerPoint presentations into ones that work!

I haven't actually used their services, but they have made presentations to meetings that I have organised, and they went down VERY well!

    Good luck,
    Bob
