Reach Retail Buyers/stores For Shoe Accessory
In 4 very short months I've successfully made it onto The View, into celebrity gift bags, and into 30+ major publications with a new summer shoe accessory I designed, patented and sell through my website. My next step is to secure distribution. For a company based on self-funded growth, we are seeking advice on the most cost-conscious and efficient way of presenting our product to buyers- which we see as falling into 4 categories: 1) boutique fashion retail 2)large fashion retail 3)shoe/foot specialty stores 4)distributors. Does anyone have specific experience in these areas, that can provide me with effective steps of action in approaching each group? Also, any recommended reading material on the subject? We are weighing "Going to market" vs. direct mail with followup vs. hiring independent sales rep, etc. Any specific tactics in these areas would be much appreciated!
