Do marketers think their companies will face more competition in 2024 than in 2023?

To find out, SurveyMonkey conducted a survey of 507 marketing professionals in the United States.

Some 73% of marketers surveyed say they expect their company to face more competition in 2024, a 19 point increase over the percentage who said the same in a similar survey last year.

Marketers who say they expect their firm to face more competition are more likely to work at a large company; they are also more likely to be optimistic about their industry, to expect changes to happen at a faster rate, and to like the flexibility to do things differently.

Some 86% of marketers expect their team’s performance expectations to increase in 2024, up 7 points from the proportion who said so last year.

Some 81% of marketers say they are concerned about their job security in 2024, up 28 points from 2023.

About the research: The report was based on data from a survey of 507 marketing professionals in the United States.
