Does the use of AI tools shorten the amount of time it takes to write content marketing articles?

To find out, researchers at Orbit Media Studios surveyed 688 content marketers.

Respondents who use AI report that it takes them 10% less time, on average, to write a content marketing article compared with respondents who do not use AI (3 hours 24 minutes vs. 3 hours 48 minutes).

The researchers found that after rising or staying relatively steady for a number of years, the average time it takes to write a content marketing article dropped in 2025.

Content marketers say they're using AI tools most for tasks like suggesting edits, generating ideas, writing headlines, and writing outlines.

Content marketers say their top concerns about using AI tools are accuracy, a lack of originality or creativity, and tone or voice inconsistency.

About the research: The report was based on data from a survey of 688 content marketers.
