To find out, Broadridge commissioned a survey of 4,018 US and Canadian residents aged 18 and older.

Respondents say the companies that provide the best customer experience/communication are better at making it easy to talk to a real person and communicating clearly and consistently.

Respondents say businesses could improve their digital communications by being clearer and more concise, by having better support availability, and by making navigation easier.

The largest share of respondents say they prefer to receive account updates from businesses via email.
