Descriptive Name For Cake Business

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi,
I currently bake homestyle (southern style) layer cakes from scratch. A few of them are Coconut Layer, Red Velvet, Chocolate cake, Classic Yellow Cake, PineApple Upside down, Carrot Cake, German Chocolate Cake etc but in the future will be offering wedding cakes and full scale catering services. I need help in selecting an elegant name. So far here are the two names and tagline. I would appreciate any help!

Here are a few idea, I would not add catering at this time since it is not in your current business model and therefore would upset you value proposition or disenchant potential customers.

    NanaCAKES,tastefully done exceptionally good

Nana's Cake Boutique, sizes to fit all.

    Nana's Sweet Delights, sinfully delicious

Nana's Southern Passions, so sweet so sinful so delicious

Pieces of Delight, Cakes for Life's Celebrations

    Icing on the Cake Celebrations

    Hope this help

    CakeWalk Catering-Southern Style Specialists

    CakeWalk you say?
Southern dance where a cake, or slices of cake, were offered as prizes for the best dancers — giving the dance its name...Also ... The term "cakewalk" is often used to indicate something that is very easy or effortless ... for your clients especially!

I agree to keep it simple short and memorable. Also as indicated above it's tricky to go from a specialty to more broad and keep the name IE Right now you are only cakes so having cake in the name tells customers exactly what you do but in the future you may not want customers to think "Cake" is all you do.

    Here are some names

    Classic Cakes
    Cultured Cakes
Cake Culture (when new prospective customers begin to look up "cakes" the first word they will look up is cake. so it may be beneficial to have dake as your first word)

    Cake World
    Cake Land
    Cakes
    Cake City

    Fancy Cakes
    Fine Cakes
Cake Rack (The names could be one word - CakeRack)
    CakeMaster(s)

    CakeChef
    CakeDoctor
    CakeCreations
    CakeMaid
    CakeMade
    CakeMiss
    CakeNana
    CakeBaker
    CakeBake
    CakeBaker

CakeBank - Expensive tastes with savings
    CakeBank - Cakes with interest!

Again, I agree when you add services add to your name or tag. But since you are establishing a brand, your brand will always need to come first.

    Good Luck

Apple is a fruit and a computer and a recording company too.

Unless there is a negative connotation associated with words you like and local/similar competition isn't a problem...make the name your own... ask a lawyer for their spin on your dilemma if that name still interests you.

A light hearted cake logo similar to bookcrossing.com could express your 'Have Cakes, Will Travel' CakeWalk Catering concept too... https://secure.bookcrossing.com/store/ .... while being way cute!
