We are opening a backery in a very small town and we need a catchy name for it. It will have professtional cakes, coffee, and sandwiches for lunch.

Mike and Randall are giving you good advice. Figure out what you're trying to communicate before you start looking for a name (or a tagline). Your positioning is the first step.

Who is your prime target audience? What do you know about them? Where are they getting their bakery goods now, or are they doing without? What kinds of names would appeal to them? You are closest to your market, and you probably have a better idea of what would play in your market than we do.

    Hi,

I am sure by now if you have read Mike and Randall you are already looking around your area and finding those answers.

Yes, it is very important to carry out a survey before you start a business like this, cause the products you offer dont last for long and therefore you need to be very calculative, analytical and target oriented. Name can be given anything you like or the people around remember.

Your name should have a good recall memory that is where you grab your customers.

Anyone thinks of a bakery your name should come to his memory, but it is also important you maintian a good service and friendly relation, remember WOM is a greatest marketing tool, cause that is where a trust between you and your existing customer is established, and these customers are your brand ambassadors.

OR you can name your bakery by your USP, say if you start early and close late you can have it named Eg: "Bakery 6-9" 6am to 9pm
