Tagline/slogan Help For Italian Restaurant

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hello,

My family owns an Italian restaurant, La Roma, and we are looking to revise our tagline.

The restaurant has been in operation for over 45 years. It has always been perceived by the public as a 'classier' spot (i.e. an all-male serving staff dressed in tuxes) where only traditional Italian cuisine is served. But, in recent years, we have made attempts to 'soften' the image of the restaurant somewhat by hiring a younger serving staff, updating the decor and modernizing the menu (while maintaining many of the traditional dishes).

I would like the tagline to reflect that we still provide great food and a beautiful atmosphere, but it's not the same 'old' La Roma from years past. We are well established with the older demographic, and we are looking to attract a younger clientelle (25-45).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think a new tagline is going to bring in a younger demo. You'll need to advertise it to them anyway.

    Today's Italian Cuisine
Today's Cuisine Prepared with the same family secret

    or something to that effect.

Hi-- you didn't mention what your current tagline is. Actually, your task is pretty straightforward. You have tradition on the one hand and change on the other (appealing to a broader demographic). The goal of the tagline is to juxtapose two concepts that play together well -- with some wit and nuance. Nailing the message is fairly easy. Finding the right way to express it so that your entire demographic can digest it and feel satisfied is your biggest challenge. Eric (TaglineGuru)
