Need Opinions And/or Help With Tag Line

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
We are wedding and portrait photographers , a 2 person business (husband and wife team), and we specialize in "lifestyle" photography - we use a photojournalistic approach with traditional elements and our artistic eye or flair. We are very customer service oriented and tailor our photography to the needs, style and personality of the client(s).

My current tag line is:
"Your snap. Your spark. Your style. Your story."

A sub tagline, if there is such a thing is:
"Photography that's all about you."

We are trying to convey that our photography is a true reflection of our clients and their personalities, but with our artistic flair. Being a photographer, not a marketing whiz, I'm wondering how our tag line fits with what we want to convey, if it is memorable or snazzy, or if it needs some serious help.

Thanks in advance!

    Hi denicewoyski ,

The tag line is really good and conveys what you can offer the clients. However, I feel its too lengthy...just an idea from my side.."Your snap. Your style. Your story." should do...

    All the best....

Or even, "(We) Capture your spark, style, and story"

Your tagline should focus on the benefit of your services. Also, if your business name doesn't say what you do, then the tagline needs to clarify it.

Capturing spark, style, and story isn't really a benefit - it's your style. The benefit is a beautiful "snapshot" of someone's life. It's not clear if your work is for people to cherish in their own home, or it's used in brochures or advertising. For example, if your typical client uses your photos publicly, then "Show The World Who You Are" would be closer to the benefit. For a private use, "Remember Your Beautiful Life" or "We Put Time In A Bottle".

I don't think what you have is bad at all, although I think I'd agree with amar.kbabu on shortening it a bit. And I think capturing their unique story IS a benefit that matters to clients, and one that differentiates you from mere "wedding photographers."

If you'd like some other options, though, here are a couple:

    Your story, captured.

Pictures with more YOU in them.

    Photographing the real you.

Because your story is not like anyone else's.

    Thanks so much everyone!

I noticed that most of you dropped the "spark". Does that come off as silly? Cheesy? Redundant?

I am not averse to changing what I've got all together in favor of something else. Using the term "story" to describe the ultimate product of wedding photography is not unique and may be overused already. If I could find something different that would be most excellent, but that is also part of what we're trying to convey. When all is said and done, we can tell the story of your wedding day with amazing photographs/albums.

I meant to add that, browncaftan, I like the "Pictures with more YOU in them." I also like "Your story, captured." but I have a deja vu feeling about that one!

I suggest the word "photobiography". Yes, it's not original but it's what you may want to convey. You capture people's lives in pictures. Then you go a step further and add in your artistic flair. So you add spark and sizzle to the steak. Thus how about:

Your style. Your story. Our spark.
We place you in the best light.
Beautiful people make our job so easy! (get ready to answer the phone!!)

Your Style, Your Story, One Snap At A Time.

Picture Your Style. Tell Your Story.

It’s Not Just A Picture. It’s The Canvas Of Your Life.

Thank you to everyone! Your answers were very helpful, indeed!

We selected the last two for two reasons:

    1. mdlugozima's response inluded US in the tag line. In our efforts to convey that our photography was tailor-made for our clients, we had left ourselves out of it - but we really like the idea that it is our spark (artistic flair) that we bring to the table. Thank you!

    2. kszprychel's "It's The Canvas Of Your Life" really resonates with us, especially for the type of photography we do. We will definitely be implementing this as well. Thank you!

    Thanks again to all!
    The Woyskis
