Naming A Colorado Mtn. Ranch Development

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have been in charge of naming all of our mountain ranch developments for 16 years, I'm out of creative names!! I need suggestions. The ranch is in the Colorado mountains, the views are stunning it is an alpine setting and has a lake with "no name" too!! I was thinking of something with "Valley or Vista or Views in it.
There are 2 gorgeous valleys on the ranch that look out to a snowcapped view!
HELP!! I need this quick!! I have to turn in a marketing plan MONDAY! 9-15!!!
Thank you

I wasn't saying "Valley Vista Views I was saying maybe the name could include one of those words! Sorry for the confusion.

Also, I do like the hispanic words, I have been on the phone with my mother in law earlier who is hispanic asking for Hispanic names, great idea!!
Thank you for the help, I think I need a bit more.

I imagine anything with Rocky Mountain has been used to death in CO, but may be good if most buyers are from out-of state. Here are a few random ideas:

Wapiti is an indian word for elk. It isn't hispanic, but may be of use. (Wapiti Ranch, Watpiti Valley, Wapiti Vista, Wapiti View Ranch, etc).

Basin is synonym for Valley and could be use in a name.

    Good luck!

    High Mountain Vista/Lake
    Hidden Mountain Vista/Lake
    Secret Mountain Vista/Lake

Also, consider honoring the native people who lived in the area:
Ute, Jicarilla, Kiowa, Cheyenne, Arapaho (if you had more time, I would've suggested contacting your local tribal body for naming ideas as an honor).

Name it after the area in which you are developing and name the roads after the trees you will be cutting down. It is the oldest method in the book.

Those have already been used by other developments years ago!! But thanks, that is what we normally ty to do

Can you use a word from a foreign language that sounds clever to the English-American ear? The word would have to mean something clever like valley or glacier view. Research the area carefully and look for events geologically that would help justify the name.

I believe I am going to go with Wapiti Valley Ranch, I have named roads in different counties using Wapiti so I do like your idea of Wapiti Valley!

Hopefully it'is not already taken in Teller County!!

    Thanks again,
    Carol
