Need Help In Naming A Soap Product

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I already have a manufacturer and everything is set for my soap, which i named "bio-fresh", checked the IPO and it was good to go, but then 6 months later i received word from the IPO that a company producing SOCKS already took the name and now I am stumped. I was going for a catchy name but now I'm fresh out of ideas.

background on product:
germicidal soap
priced low (going for the cheap and good value image)

right now i'm experimenting with words such as:
vivid
clean
bio
bright
pure
lush

Bio Fresh is being used by Burlington Socks.

    How about:

    Germ-Free Soap
    Derma-Fresh
    Bio-Clean

These names connotes cleanliness and freshness which a soap should be.

Where/who is your primary target audience for this soap? How will they learn about it? What's the distribution plan?

What makes your soap different from, and better than, all the dozens of other brands of soap on the market? Why would someone buy your soap if they had all the information? What's the unique and important positioning benefit your soap will deliver?

Until we know the answers to these questions, any naming help we give you will be based on a wild guess.

We can help you come up with a good name, but we need more information about your target audience, marketing plan, and the positioning you envision for the product first.

Can you provide that additional information?

how about just "Fresh" --that would give your brand lots of extensions unless that is trademarked too

"Fresh" soap-in different scents, sizes, liquid and bars

As I said this is a gremicidal soap, which is currently being supplied to some hospitals and hotels as a generic brand and I am trying to push this product into the markets

as of now my demographic segmentation of this product is only limited to a few supermarkets and convenience stores as distribution centers. Promotional plan involves giving away free samples and a discount on the next purchase (since this is a new brand I just want to see how the market reacts before I invest more on this, but this won't be possible without a brand name).

The target audience would be anyone who uses germicidal soap who wants to save some money (my pricing is so far the cheapest on the market which is my also my product position) that is up to par with the more expensive and well known brands in the market. As of now i know this is an inept brand and I am just looking for consumers to consider the product.
