Naming A Shop Selling Vintage, Modern And Classic

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am opening up a shop that will be dealing with home interior accents from vintage antique finds to current trends. I was originally leaning towards Sweet Magnolias but it seemed to vague. Then I thought of Things That Sparkle but that seemed over used. I like the idea of southern charm items but also shabby chic southern france style details. HELPPPPPPPP :)

Start by telling us about your customers. Who is your primary target audience? Where do they live? How old? Male/female? Newly formed households or already established? Children? Apartments/homes? Own/rent? What magazines do they read? What brands do they prefer?

The more specific you can be the better. You want a narrow target so you can really deliver a meaningful and compelling message that will resonate with them. And the name will follow from the target audience selection.

You'll also need to understand how your target audience decides on where to purchase home interior accents. What are the considerations? What words does your target audience use when they describe their decision-making process?

Naming isn't so much about what you do or what you sell. It's about your target audience and the main benefit they seek. Help us understand your future customers, and we'll help you come up with a great name for your new business.

    Lucy's Home Accents
Homé (Accent on Home - probably too subtle)

That is why you are the marketing professionals !!! Kudos to you. Overall pic:

    Target: mostly women
Magazines probably read: Southern Living, Coastal Living, Flea Market Style, House Beautiful, Antique Finds
Type of buyer: someone looking for whimsical touches, Provence style furnishings & linens, odd finds etc.

Someone who wants to live on a farm but a dressed up farm and doesnt want to do any work (LOL). A shopper who wants the look of old but the quality of new.

Sorry to be all over the board. You guys are great. I appreciate any and all feedback.

I agree with the responder who says that the Sweet Magnolias sounded like a flower shop. That is what steered me away. Same for the sparkle - jewerly.

    Have a wonderful day

Consider a one word name like "Accents" or "Expressions"
