Business Name For A Nutritional Consulting Company

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi there,

I am looking for help in naming my new nutritional consulting business. I am a new graduate from a Holistic Nutrition program. We focus on healing the body through whole foods and lifestyle changes. I will be working with clients one-on-one, helping them make measurable changes in their lives and see the health benefits through an improved diet. Also, I will be working with corporations, making presentations and seminars to their employees about health and fitness.

I had thought of Sage Wellness, as Sage is an important healing herb, and as well also stands for "spiritual teacher". However, someone is already using this name.

Any ideas for a name that encompasses wellness, nutrition and over all balance would be MUCH appreciated :)

From a values perspective, here are the values and mission statement:

"We help organizations empower individuals to make healthy and balanced choices that will improve their physical, mental and spiritual health, and inject their lives with the energy needed to achieve their personal goals.

We are passionate about our work and want that passion to be at the core of every client we help. We value integrity, compassion, community and a sense of play in everyday life. "

Thanks so much!

"However, someone is already using this name." - what does this mean? Someone has this name trademarked? Registered as a local business in your community? The domain name is taken?

Ignoring your values/mission statement, where are you located? Who specifically are you targeting (their age, demographic info, etc.)? Why would they want to hire YOU (instead of one of your competitors)?

Hi Jay- someone does have the domain name (and different versions of it), and there is a registered business with the same name, in the same city. I am located in Toronto, Canada. I am specifically going to target corporate customers and running wellness programs for their employees. Lunch 'n learns, workshops, one-on-one trial consultations etc. Healthy employees means lower costs for the company in terms of sick days, insurance coverage and generally a better working environment. They would hire me because I come from a corporate background. With 10 years of project management experience, I understand the pressures of working in the corporate world and trying to manage work-life balance. I am a good public speaker who oozes enthusiasm and passion about nutrition. I can energize a room and get them excited about making small measurable changes that can impact their health in BIG ways! Thanks for your questions- they made me pull out my business plan and fix a few things!

Hi Phil- I am disheartened by your assumptions. I am new to this forum and now aware of how much detail is required to pose a question. I do have a detailed business plan that include target audience, a marketing plan, projected start-up costs, projected income for the next 3 years. So I have done a lot of thinking and ground work for my business. I do not expect people to come flocking to me because I am new graduate. I expect them to come to me because I am knowledgeable, friendly, well-organized and passionate about my area of expertise. I expect them to come to me because they will in fact see tangible results with my help. Please keep in mind that some of us are new to this. We do not keep people mocking us and making assumptions.

If you're going to focus on corporate customers, then "Sage Wellness" probably isn't the right name for your offering. Corporations would be interested in having you both help their employees AND save them money. So a name that reinforces that would be a better bet for you. For example: "The Well Employee" or "Better Health".

Thanks Jay- that makes sense. I will start looking at names that align with your suggestion.
