I Am Starting A Pet Sitting Bus. And Need A Name

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have been working in the business world and have a bs in management. After several layoffs, I am ready to make a career change, and since I have rescued dogs and love animals, I would like to run my own business in pet sitting. I cannot work with rescuing anymore as it broke my heart to see so much abuse. i live in a fairly wealthly area, and need to come up with a name for my business. I thought of Peachy Petsitting, peach for GA. My husband did not like this name. My name is Denise, and live in Roswell, GA. Any ideas out there?

Thank you Denise

What a long list of good suggestions! How are you going to decide among them?

One of the things you might do is figure out what your unique selling proposition is. What makes you different from, and better than, the other alternatives in your area? Why should someone hire you? Once you have determined what your positioning is, then you can begin to rank the name candidates based on how well they communicate (or support) the positioning.

Otherwise, what criteria would you use to select from all the names suggested? (I've found at least 6-8 that I think are good, but I'm pretty sure I'm not in your target audience ... to far away from Atlanta.)

Have you tried talking with a few pet owners to see what might make them hire a pet care service? What do they do now when they have to leave their pets? What do they like/dislike about the choices? What else would they really like that they can't get today?

Maybe there's a niche or a clever offering element that would set you apart and could become part of your name.

    Just some thoughts. Good luck.

    Hi

The question keeps going through my mind is, what is your competitive advantage against that of a typical kennel? I assume it is the friendly, pet loving ambience which you create which is tailored to the pet's needs.

Therefore maybe we should leverage that:

Pet Breaks - Even animals need a holiday
Pet Desires - A home from home
    Trusted Hands Pet Sitting

    Hope this helps
