Looking For A New Tagline

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
We are a 58 year old office equipment sales and service company that is looking to create a new clear, concise tagline. We are a very stable, family owned company. We are trying to brainstorm around the idea of "Trust" since so many of our competitors are young upstart unstable companies. Any ideas?

    Trust. It's our Motto.
Decades of Experience. Decades of Trust.

    Name
    "When Trust Matters."
    "Decades of Dependable Service"

I'm thinking something along the lines of:

"You've trusted us since the mimeograph"

Something that really shows how long you've been around. Maybe mimeograph is the right item to focus on.

    Contemporary Equipment. Old-Time Values.
    or
We Place Our Name On It.
    or
    Dependable Since 1958
    or
    Plugged In Since 1958

    Hope these work.

50 years of your trust brought us to where we are...

50 years of experience... we earn your trust
50 years of hard work... we've earned it...
    trust us...to serve you

    hope this helps,

Sorry to put a damper on the whole discussion, but "trust" is a universal category value. Simply put, this means that *every* customer has to trust you just in order to buy from you. Trust is not a differentiator and other people's trust has limited transfer value.

I suggest you look for something that is relevant to your target market and different from your competitors: what does better service actually *mean* in your line of business? Making sure that the customer buys absolutely the right equipment for the way they conduct business? Only carying the most reliable office equipment? Repairing faulty equipment efficiently?

One way to think about what you do differently/better is to explore your customers buying decision in three dimensions: before they buy, the buying transaction itself and after they buy

Trust and promise are involved in every type of activity under marketing. When an organization advertises "Best Quality @ affordable price" they are indirectly saying "trust me.. you wont find an offer like this anywhere else".

but before Marketing the Trust one needs to "enable" that trust and ready to "deliver" the trust.

Enabling the trust means putting internal business processes in place like training employees, timely delivery of equipments to customers.

Delivering the trust means proper interaction with customers in executing the processes mentioned earlier like providing quality services on equipment repairs.

I believe with 50 years of existence you have all this things in place, so any good tagline you choose that stciks to whatever you do will boost your company's image and work wonders.

If people dont see a match between your tagline and your activities then even catchy taglines wont work.

Nevertheless if you like check this

So be careful, trust once goes takes ages to build.

Nevertheless if you like, try these lines

    "When business matters.."

    "Name that builds trust"

    Hope this helps

    Because You Can't Duplicate Trust.

You might try something entirely different. Go with what the customer gets from buying from you. Trust is not exactly a benefit. It should be expected from an old established firm.

    Here's an example:

    "Get going."
"When you run out, give us a shout."
"When supplies run low, you know where to go."
