Name For A Software Support/training Company

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am trying to choose a name for my 1-person (I am a female) Software Support & Training company. I have been doing some research and some brainstorming, and I have come up with an idea, but I'm not sure about the possible connotations of the name.

I've been trying to find something that people would remember, and that doesn't have the word software or technology in it, because everybody seems to have those words in their company name.

My idea is "IT Girl"...
However, when I checked to see if a domain name like "it-girl.com" or "itgirl.com" might be available, the web hosting site offered alternates like "hot girls", etc...
so it occurred to me that IT Girl might have a pornographic connotation.

I'd like to have a catchy company name, not an embarrassing one....could I have some input, please?

Thank you

    Dear IT Girl,
The problem is lots of people (business people, managers, etc,) don't know what IT stands for.
I read something many years ago that said... "If you lost a business card, would people know what you do?" I suggest including something about what you do.
Here are some tongue in cheek names...
The Computer Vixen - the Software Shrew
    or a serious one
Siren of Computerland - with a picture of Ulysses' Sirens in the background...
    Good Luck

My first thought was Chic Geek. Nahh.
    How about:
    Techno Guru
    Tech Expert
    Info Tech Pro

You might not want to play up that you're female.

    QWERTY,
Software Solutions and Tutoring ... at your fingertips.

The most common modern-day keyboard layout on most English language computer keyboards. Used Solutions implying removing problems versus Support, meaning your problem remains but we'll help you work with it... in my mind anyway.

Didn't know if you visited them or they came to you also wasn't sure if you are a technician; hardskills or teacher, soft skills.

Chose this memorable name as it also implies help is at hand or at least not far away, sorry couldn't resist!

    Cheers

    Hi,

You could just also use your name or names as in:
    ...=yourname

    " ...IT solutions"
    " ...IT Pro"
" ...Ordinatrice" Orinateur is French for Computer

    or

    "GatewayToCompuSkills"
    "ITskillsRUs"
    "ITsolutionsSme"

    Regards,
    W

As suggested above, I'd stay away from gender...what happens when you become successful and end up hiring a guy?
