Jewelry Business Name

I make jewelry and am starting a home based business. I am looking for a name. The jewelry is handcrafted, made with sterling silver and various types of beads (lampwork beads) and crystals. I wanted to use Barbie Designs (my name is Barbie) however not sure that is a good idea due to the whole Barbie Doll thing.

    True its your name- but have you thought that the Brand Barbie has connotations that might not necessarily agree with your kind of hancrafted sterling silver jewellery?

    Incase you really want to use your name
    EIB-RAB Jewellery ( its barbie spelt backwards)

    Else you could use a shorter form of your name BARB or RB or BAR-B and prefix it to the name you decide upon . Ideally create a name that will explain your product and align it to the category- consider a 1 or 2 word brand name.

    BARB- Sparklers
    Silver Slave
    RB's Crystal Droplets
    BAR-B Teardrops & Silver

    Dear Barbie,

    You shouldn't be handicapped from using your own name. We have to find a way out for using your own name, but, still without sounding a copycat.

    Legally it seems that name & design shouldn't be deceptively similar to another registered trademark. Could you make it as :

    "barBie deSigns".

    (you could represent every letter in the design of a pendent or other piece of jewellery)

    I think you could make it up with innovative font, color and style which will not attract legal problems. Anyhow consult just an expert on trademark act.

    I really like the name Bling - you could have it designed into a really neat, eye-catching logo!

    Other possible suggestions for names:

    if you're interested, you can always check your domain availability at https://www.internic.net/whois.html. ... BTW, SimplyB.com is available now, and what fun you could have with your tagline and the play on words you could use with the "B" (using it as "Be" in your tag). ...
