Brand Name For A Key Chain

Posted by NatashaChernavska on 125 Points
Hello everyone,

Among all things I do I also have a hobby of making jewelry. recently I came up with an idea of making unique styled key charms.

Here is what they look like: https://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=5897160

The thing is that I never saw anything as interesting and nice in retail, so I figured, that I can really sell those little pieces, because they don't look like anything else what's selling out there (tell me if I'm wrong).

I would like to create a unique brand name for this product so I could be actually recognized at once!

Key chains - key charms - key loves - key songs...

I would really love if you could share your ideas how can we call such a cute little thing which would be really different from regular key chains?

Thank you!

KeyScapes, your ocean pieces inspired this.

Chatelaine, traditioanlly worn at the waist but yours seem appropriate for this old definition.

Samara, ..maples and elm trees have a seed and a "wing." Sometimes they are called "keys" because their shape is similar to the shape of a key. The wing helps the seed travel by wind, since it is wide and lightweight and catches the air.

If you are looking for a protectable identity, ie., trademark, you need to select a term that is neither generic or descriptive. Your best bet is a trade name that is arbitrary or fanciful. (Arbitrary is a coined term such as Exxon, eBay, Xerox, or Etsey). (Fanciful is a term that means something but is used in a completely unrelated field, such as Black Crow for whiskey). I am an intellectual property attorney who routinely registers federal trademarks. Consequently, you would want to avoid tradenames that include key, keychain, or the like as separate portions of the tradename because you will have to disclaim that portion of the trademark. After reviewing your web site, you may wish to consider "Classy & Sassy," "Charmees," "Pizzazz" or something completely arbitrary such as "phylaces" taken from Pylactery which is a talisman.

Thank you everyone for your inputs! Everything is really appreciated! I like the idea of Key Charmers, Key Notes, and I will think about a trademark name. I think Charmers may really do it.

    Thank you everyone!
