Question

Topic: Taglines/Names

Oh, What The Heck....

Posted by Anonymous on 200 Points
I have not really thought about a tag line for my business.

I would like to have some ideas from an outside source in order to possibly not sound like the many, many identical ones being used.

I own a window cleaning company that services mostly residential conusmers in the mid-west. We are a pretty "down home, earthy" type of business.

DO NOT POST "Let the OUTside IN'!... That is a popular one in my business... and I don't like it :)

thanks

Paul

I had a friend who once owned a clock repair business. He was also an executive with a Fortune 100 company and a marketing expert.

His tag line was "We Fix Clocks" .

Sometimes with simple service businesses we get carried away. Why not consider " We Clean Windows" Or the opposit of the common refrain of "we don't do windows" you say " We Do Clean Windows"-+

I have been in window cleaning for 26 years, and I'm a one man operation. When I was still new in the business, I was charging only $2 per window, in and out. That was actually my tagline: "Most windows start at $2.00, inside and out!" I got more calls from people asking, "So, if I have 30 windows, would that mean the job would cost $60?" It served the purpose of demystifying the cost of the service, and pre-qualifying prospects. And it got people to call.

I still advertise the price of my service on my website, but I don't put it on my cards any more. Nowadays I keep thinning the herd. I have all I can do. But that is mostly because this business is relational: do people trust you inside their homes? Back in 91, right after the Gary Rolling student murders here in Gainesville, my calls shot up. People were more reputation-conscious than ever, and I was the guy with the reputation.
