Innovative Names For Health Club

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi,
I will be opening up a health club in South India focusing on family fitness and fitness as a way of life. Additional to the regular 18-45 crowd will be focussing on young children and older people to get them to be fit. So i need names that are innovative, catchy, meaningful, easy for brand building and advertising. Something that might appeal to all the age groups in my target market. So will be happy to receive suggestions. Thank you.

    Ammu,
Your target group is too wide...although you plan to attract a broad spectrum of customers, I expect that 80% of your sales would come from the 18 to 35 group, so focus on them.....so here goes: "Bolly Gym"..."Karma".....how important is it for the name to be in one of the Indian langauges?...finally and most importantly, what is the one thing you want your gym to be famous for?.....figure that out based on customer desire and the competitive landscape and identify the one thing you want to own and then that will inform everything you do including the brand name, dr

Looking at your target demographic I would suggest something that encompasses that. You have a wide range of ages so you would want something that says that.

    Community Fitness
    Community Fitness Center
    Transcend Health Club
    Tanscend Fitness

I am ignorant to your language but I think Indian words that mean "community or transcend" would fit better.

I would be interested in hearing if you go with my suggestion or a variation there of. Let me know if you do and good luck...

    Cheers!

    Hi Guys!

Thank you so much for all your ideas. I'm playing around with some of the names that you all have suggested and spin offs from them. I like fit factory, elevation fitness, and Spirit. By the way, jcasalou & dennis there are like 4-5 languages widely spoken in the region i'm concentrating on, so I will be focusing on names in English. A quick question, how important do you think it is to incorporate the words fitness, health and the like in the name versus names like Reflections, Dimensions etc.

Thank you all once again in advance.

    Archana.

I think it has some importance to incorporate words that pertain to the service you are offering when it comes to fitness.

Here in the states you have community centers which everyone knows involves some sort of physical well-being activities amongst many other things that involve the community in which it is located.

Big national chains here all have fitness or gym in their names, i.e. Lifetime Fitness, Gold's Gym, L.A. Fitness, Balley's Total Fitness etc...Or they have the town/city name with health club like "Birmingham Health Club."

Why not use Reflections Health Club or Dimensions Fitness Center?
