Flat Fee Realty Business In Texas

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi,

I'm wanting to market a Flat Fee Realty business for the entire state of Texas but having a hard time coming up with a name to target this niche. Looking for good ideas on names. It is a For Sale By owner alternative and most potential clients do not want to pay the traditional realty fees. Thank you for your help and I love this site!

First of all, don't get too hung up on naming so that people get what you do. And, don't limit yourself because your business objective may change when you encounter the forces of the market.

    You've seen it:
Fred's Ford Dealership becomes Fred's Auto Group because suddenly they carry Ford, Mercedes, Buick and Honda. So, they re-brand.

You know, ultimately, no matter your business name, people will ask what you do or you have to give details on your website. Think about the biggest companies in the world - Coca Cola, FedEx, Nike - their name needs explanation if you just saw it and you had never seen their ads. FedEx is really the best. They started as an overnight letter and small package delivery company.

But, they bought out local package delivery companies and invented FedEx Home to compete better with UPS. UPS change their game from parcels to include overnight letter, etc.

That being said, I'll give it a whirl!

    Bottom-Line Realty
    Frozen Pricing Real Estate
    Fixed-Fee Real Estate
    Owner's Deal Real Estate

You know that naming would be much easier if you spoke a little about your core idea or what's the most important value you are trying to deliver.

When I name my company is was all about target marketing. But, obviously "Target" would have been a problem.

What is frustrating you about the way the market works now? Why are you doing this? That will help guide you to a name. Figure out your core and then get the thesaurus - the best tool for finding names. Yes, get the printed and huge Roget's. You can skim and skip.

    Please post more info.

    thanks,
    Anne

    LoneStar Fixed Fee Realty
(Expert realtors * One flat rate)
(We know Texas - You know commissions up front)

    Good luck!

Really appreicate the responses. Here is the core of my business idea and the reason I have choosen to go this route. I believe the internet has changed the Real Estate Market just as it has changed the way Stockbrokers did business. Since 80% of buyers go to the local MLS to find a home, why would you want to pay a Realtor 3% - 6% to open a door and fill in some blanks for a home that you found? Having been in Real Estate for 8 Years, I've had to negotiate my commission more in the past two years than the first 6. Buyers and Sellers are smarter with a wealth of information at their fingertips. Now, here is the effectiveness of a flat fee business in my opinion. Hope this can generate some more names...

    1) Market entire state of Texas
    2) One small fee for listing home
    3) Sellers don't have to pay more just because their home has appreciated.
    4) No hidden costs
    5) Listing on MLS and Rebates for buyers

    Question:
Rock Bottom Realty sound good or too negative?

I'd worry about Rock Bottom Realty, particularly in today's market. Many people are being forced to sell, and that name can rub salt in a wound.

I agree that the Internet has changed many businesses dramatically. For realty, though, I'd think that the human touch may still be needed. While some people are do-it-yourselfers, realty is a very specialized field, and it can be time-consuming to effectively market a house. We sold our first house on our own, luckily in a seller's market. The staging and marketing part was fine, but I was very nervous about all the contracts and paperwork. It also was a pain to have to be available to show the house whenever a potential buyer wanted to see it.

I'm not sure by your post if your service is entirely web-based, though. Can you clarify what other traditional realtor services you offer for the flat fee (e.g., consultation for drafting ads and scheduling open houses, forms/guidance on sales documents, etc.)?

    Another name came to mind:

    FutureTrend Realty
(One flat fee * No hidden costs)
