Oh, I guess I should explain a little bit more, sorry. Our main goal is to sell the alpacas. We could sell the fleece too but the money is really in selling the animals. This could be an investment for someone who has a farm or even a white collared business man who has no farming experience at all. The tax right offs for that person is amazing. We are located right outside of Chicago and the name of our business is Tischler Family Alpacas. I really appreciate everyone's help!

Sorry, just want a little more clarification. You sell to farmers/investors who would buy the alpacas in order to sell the fleece...? Are they buying for the opportunity to make money from the fleece, or for the tax write-off, usually? Thanks...

We are trying to appeal to both farmers/investors for the sale of the actual animal (both baby and adults) The quality of the fleece is one characteristic of the alpaca which would decide the price of the animal. Animals with better fleece/conformation/age/specific color sell better than less quality animals. The actual selling of the fleece itself it just one part of it but not the true money making part. The investors most likely won't be hands on with the animal but having them is such a huge tax write-off. I hope I'm making sense. Thank you again for your interest.
