Need Name For Nonprofit Wildlife Rehab

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am starting a non-profit in northern NY for wildlife rehab. To start out I will be the only rehabber (with a few close friends as my board of directors) and will be working out of my home. In the future if I can raise enough money I would like to build a small Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. So I need a name that will work for my small start up operation, but will also work if my nonprofit grows into a larger operation. Does anyone have a good suggestion? Thanks

    NNYWRC

    NNYWRL

Maybe use "Lab" instead of Center.

    Good luck

What type of animals are you focusing on? Birds, small mammals, larger mammals (wolves, etc.), etc.?

    WildCare
    Wildlife Protectors
    Wild Friends
    Save The Wildlife

I am located in upstate NY near the Adirondack Mountains about 30 minutes south of the Canadian Border and on the shores of Lake Champlain. To start out I would be mainly handling smaller mammals, deer, and song birds, but I would eventually like to also take in larger mammals and raptors. I would like to stay away from names that focus on my demographic area, encase I want to expand to other areas. Also as far as personal interest, I am currently a Ecology major at one of the local colleges and my main focus is conservation and wildlife management. I want to tie in my area of study with my wildlife rehab organization. Thanks for the ideas so far. Hope this info helps.

P.S. I don't yet have a website, domain name, or tag line. I'm just starting out, everything is still in the planning stages.

The phrase "Birds In The Hand" comes to mind ...

Or, "The St. Francis Center for Wildlife Rescue" (St. Francis being the saint associated with animals, etc.)

I like it, he was my grandmother's favorite saint, but I would like to stay away from anything religious.

I like the answers I have been given so far but none of them really pop out at me and the ones that I liked are already being used by other organizations. Thanks so much some of your ideas have really got me thinking, and keep the ideas coming.
