Please Help! I Need A Name For My T-shirt Store!

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My husband and I have started a t-shirt store. We will be both screenprinting and tie-dying. Our main demographic will be middle school age through about 35. We will be making our own t-shirts and the t-shirts will have original designs on them. We may also sell accessories like hemp jewelry, bags, handkerchiefs, etc. all that we will be making ourselves. What we do need is a catchy name. This will be our Llc, our storefront name, and our web-address. We have thought of many cool names but most of them are already taken on the internet.

Well in order for us to give you sound suggestions we need to know a few things. T-shirts have a broad range of styles, fabric, uses etc...

What types of T's are they? Short sleeve, long sleeve, both? Will they all be 100% cotton if so, will they be the quality soft cotton found on "vintage" style t's or the cheap cotton t's you buy in packs of 10?

What about the designs on the shirts? Will there be just random designs or will there be characters, writing, retro logos, etc...?

If you're going to have a variety of designs and styles my suggestion is CornacopiaTees.com. Answer some of the questions above and we can probably give you better suggestions.

A great name is descriptive and relevant for what you do and is memorable to the target audience.

    Tee & Hemp Cabal

The 'C' could be anything ... commune, collective, co-op, etc...but the 'C' is important.

Combined you get THC. Left unstated THC provides your underlying edge yet an acceptable edge unless you operate in an extremely Red state.

Be expensive to get THC.com as a URL but I would bet other longer derivations are available.

i think we're going to go with a coin word. like starbucks has that cool name that doesn't mean anything but everyone knows what it means. when you search for "starbucks" on google, the number one thing comes up as starbucks coffee. so, help me think of a good coin word! keep the ideas coming. this is very very hard.

That's a good idea but Starbucks became Starbucks by spreading a brand image and spending TONS of $. The only way to successfully do that on a clothing end is to come out with your own line of clothing and position it in department stores.

If you search for online t-shirt stores that carry the same sorts of the things that you plan on having. They all include "shirts" or "t-shirts" in their name. Those that do not include those usually will have a name that represents the lifestyle that they are catering to.

I'm not sure finding a cool coin word is going to drive traffic and customers to your site. Try using your last name or combination of you and your husbands initials, a combination of your names, something clever like that.

    smithtees.com
Matt and Joan = MAJO Tees
Jonathon and Kristie = JOKRI Tees

    Get it?

    Good luck!
