Posted by Anonymous on 100 Points
This is posted lower for more points so if you have a brand new idea post in both places to earn more!

Company Name: Red Umbrella Photography

Past Focus: General Photography -weddings, politics, corporate, portraits, etc.

Past Tag-Line: Red Umbrella Photography ~ We've Got You Covered!

Future Focus: Maternity, infants & Children.

Future Tag-Line: *Your ideas here!!*

I have this posted lower down and have two ideas from it & would love your thoughts on these as well as any new suggestions:

1.
Red Umbrella Photography ~ Our studio is crawling with customers
Problem: we do all shoots on location & therefore don't use a studio. Any ideas branching off of this one without the use of the word "studio"?

2.
Red Umbrella Photography ~ Frist kick to first cup - We've got you covered

3.
YOUR idea :) Please share!!

    Hi,

You can seek a direction for this branding exercise from the future focus of business, which, in a nutshell, is "the start of a new life-in form of kids".
Typically, these moments-spanning from maternity to being parents of young kids- have a lot of sentimental value because they are transient and bring back nostalgia when recollected/viewed later. You could articulate the above aspect of "Capturing the beautiful moments". I did on, second thoughts, see the rationale for you having the word 'covered' (because of umbrella etc)

Given this you could think in terms of "Protecting beautiful moments" although "Preserving memories" is less constrained by the umbrella issue and seems a more natural route.

Another stream of thought could be 'hold on to it eternally'. Kids, both pre and post-natal are lovely to feel or hold and cuddle. Unfortunately, as they grow up they are no longer easy to hold. One can only hold on to the pictures.

Taglines are useful if they are used effectively in brand communication. Sometimes they end up merely as fancy elements. But in my view it should connect in some way to the brand benefit. To that extent, "crawling with customers" promises little in terms of end benefit. It's just an expression of a successful, running business that may play a secondary role in instilling confidence after the customer feels the need of the photography services in the first place.

    Hope this helps.

Consider turning the image of the umbrella upside down. Instead of using it to protect from something ("we've got you covered"), have it be the catch basin ("capturing cherished memories") or even have the shape of it upside-down represent a smile ("remember the precious moments").

I don't feel it's necessary to incorporate the functionality of an umbrella into the tagline. I would try and find a tagline that appeals to the emotion of your target. Something that pertains to life, youth, love, precious moments, parenthood, children, etc...

    Red Umbrella Photography -
    "Precious moments for a lifetime"

    Hi Smile!

I'm not affiliated with any company and just chanced upon your post. Went to your site and found the photos very beautiful. =)

I thought that since you do shootings on location, that could be incorporated into your tagline as a benefit.

    Here is my suggestion
    "Bringing to you..remembrance"

Oh and if anyone has an advertising agency or brand management job to offer drop me a line pls thanks!

I really appreciate the responses. A couple of them have really made me think and I was about to 'Accept responses' but thought of one more that I'd like opinions on...

"Clicking with kids" or "We click with kids"

or something along those lines. The word "click" being used as a punn -function well together & the clicking shutter sound when taking a photo-

    Thoughts?

Good job on "We click with kids". Clever. If I may add:

    Kids are a snap!
    Kids don't make us shutter.
    Kids are our main focus.

Thanks for all the thoughts and opinions! I have chosen to go with the following:

Red Umbrella Photography ~ We click with kids

And remember to look me up if you're ever in Ontario and need a photographer!
