Appealing to this audience will take something less see-say. Something that doesn't necessarily describe but rather does an end run around the obvious to nail a truth and evoke an emotion.

To make that happen, start with a positioning statement driven by a knowledge of the audience. A position statement describes the audience in terms of a key insight, notes the product category, highlights the point of difference and illuminates a credible reason for believing that point of difference--all in one sentence.

For example: "For indie fans who crave connections and networking with others, supernova.com is the social-networking website that gives every member the same full access because it brings live shows and full interactivity without barriers."

Of course, I just concocted the essentials here; I know nothing about indie bands or their fans. But, you get the idea. The right tag will reveal itelf if the positioning is done with true, thoughtful, original insight.

In your case, you already have a domain and site design. The PS and tag will have to be derived to a great extent from the same thinking.
