New Consultant Firm Name

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I am an industrial-organizational psychologist that consults business in performance improvement, leadership development, professional communications and mental toughness. I also perform individual coaching to middle managers and executives and also conduct and coach individuals involved in multi-source feedback (360) programs. I am looking for a catchy name. Unfortunately, it seems that all of the good one's are taken. My organization will work in any work environment but may be primarily working with military or DoD personnel initially. It will be a small firm but I will have outside work to assist me so prefer that the word Group, Associates are included. In addition, I will likely consult out of the country too.

Some of the firms I like are named:

The Impact Group (favorite)
Cognisco
Winning Mind Inc.

I have even translated English words to Latin and often find that this has been done quite frequently before. Recently, I came up with "The Tendo Group". Tendo means "to guide". I like it but many comment on how it sounds like an offshoot of Nintendo.

Thanks for your assistance.

    ToughMind Associates

The domain is currently available. (get .net and .org, too.)

This approach targets the DoD/Military customer and speaks to the felt need to be mentally fit, durable and able to withstand the rigors of the job. It also speaks to your expertise. It could also easily be used for brand extensions. ToughMind - readiness assessments. And so on...

A different approach would be to focus on your differentiators. What sets your practice apart from all others? A particular assessment process? A particular style? You could focus on your persona if you have a unique background.

I don't recommend the name Tendo or Tendo Associates, unless it can relate to one of the above mentioned approaches and be a hook for a compelling story.

If you give a little more background on your practice or on you, I can offer other suggestions.

I like it even better now that you have told me more about your background.

Dr. C and ToughMind should own the "performance under pressure" category in the perceptions of the public. You can build off that theme and make it what ToughMind is all about using a tag line like this:

    ToughMind Associates
*the power to perform under pressure*
