A Name That Represents Old/new

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I'm trying to come up with a business name that represents the juxtaposition of the old with new. The business will be a home-ware retail store that sells antiques and local crafts in a visual setting resembling high-end home decor retailers. Strong emphasis will be placed on environmental and cultural sustainability, so it would be nice to have the name represent that as well, although the main emphasis is on the old/new juxtaposition. Chrysalis is a potential name, but I'm looking for something that's perfect, and am starting to run out of creative juice. There were names drawn from Greek mythology which were perfect, but they all involve incest somewhere in the story -not so good for the image. Ideally the name will incorporate the old/new as mentioned and will be attractive both on visual and auditory terms. Am I asking too much....?

The first thing I thought of when you mentioned old/new was the song we used to sing in Girl Scouts...."Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold"

What if you played off of that notion, resulting in something like,

    Silver and Gold Homewares
    Where Tradition and Novelty Combine

or you could combine synonyms for old/new and give it the name of something such as:

    Traditions Renewed
    or
    Traditionally Fresh

Apologies for my my lack of posting. Thank you for all of your postings, I have been thinking them through carefully. To answer your first question W.M.M.A, could you give a further description of "verto, vario, permuto"? Many thanks.
