Feedback / Suggestions On Personal Training Name

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I am working with a PT that is looking to take the next step with his business. He is adding a trainer besides himself and is looking at getting a more professional space. The majority of his clients are affluent, female boomers, but he also works with young male athletes improving their fitness. The name he was using "studio m", he may not be able to register. He likes the name "Urban Garage" or something similar to it (Urban Health Garage is an alternative as well). It doesn't speak directly to health or fitness, but he feels that it is "edgy". The majority of his business is word of mouth. It appeals to him that joe consumer wont walk in off the street knowing what he does so he can be more exclusive. The current tag line we are using is "Fitness is more than lifting weights".

    How about simply: Urban Train?

Your tagline "Fitness is more than just lifting weights" has some really good thought behind it. Even one target audience can look at this business through many different lenses. Saying what you do is "more than ____" is a great way position yourself as a better alternative. Perhaps even more importantly, it also leaves it up to the individual to decide what makes it so.

But, it's too bulky and doesn't resonate as is. Try these:

    More than weights
    More than work outs
    More than you think
    More than pounds
    More than machines
    More than crunches

"Beyond" may be even better. Play with the possibilities. Make it pithy. Select one that strikes a chord. Then, test it with a few clients to see if it resonates with them, too.

    Best of luck,

I like Kim's ideas, too. "Allure" might be a good word.
