A Challenge For All Creative Minds

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
My wife and myself operate a mortgage broking business in Australia but we want to break out with a more exciting name. We can offer access to home loans, commercial loans, personal loans, car leases, reverse motgages. We can show people how to realise their dreams either by helping them into their own home or by investing in property to build wealth and we pride ourselves on the fact that we offer more than just a home loan. We keep in touch and build a relationship over the years to always make it easier for people to get any problems solved. The name we're looking for is a relatively short one - a combined word or two words.

    Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I need to think this through a little.

It's been extremely worthwhile and interesting having an outsider comments.

Phil, your comments about maintaining the name but introducing a tag line made us stop and think but we do want to "move on".

We do have a name that we are about to try and reserve with the appropriate authority here in Australia and, pending acceptance of it, I will get back and tell you what we have come from and our new name.

    Thanks again.

Think of branding as an investment. A new name and tag will require some effort in the marketplace (i.e. money and time) to turn it into something.

Another faster option (if it exists in the financial services industry in Australia)--buying a franchise. It's quite possible there are well established national or regional brands you could buy into, perhaps at a much lower cost than establishing your own.
