Slogan For Health Related Service

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
We're starting a health related web service that can be used by anyone, even people without a computer. We have the makings of a primary slogan, but it needs considerable help. The rough idea is:
If you’re breathing, you can use HealthMe. (Not the real name)

This is the kind of context where it would be used:

If you’re breathing, you can use HealthMe. Who can use HealthMe?
· The elderly
· People without a computer
· The computer literate
· Your mother
· The physically challenged
· Travelers
· Shut ins
· Martians

I’m sure you get the idea. Unfortunately, as much as I like the humor, we probably can’t use “If you’re breathing…” The message would stand out, but we’re probably more limited to something along the lines of “If you can use a phone…” The problem with “…phone…” is that it is somewhat misleading in that it sets phones up as the primary interface. I don’t want our users to have that mentality.

The slogan should clearly specify WHO & WHY people would want to use your service. What's the benefit to using your service, why should they trust you, why use you (instead of the competition), etc. You need a marketing strategy to focus your marketing effort.

I agree with others that we do not have enough info to generate slogans. What does your service offer people. Are you targeting a certain geographic location?

I suggest you replace if you are breathing.. which may have some negative conotations and may not be understood by everyone with ....

    If you are alive...
if you are alive and well...

You all have a legitimate point. Unfortunately, for the same reason I didn't give the real name, I'm not free to provide complete details.

However, it's worth mentioning that this is not the primary marketing message for the service and is not meant to cover what we do. Accordingly, the fact that it's a web based service that can become central to anybody's health care related activities is useful for context, but does not need to be part of the message.

I'm looking for help with a sub-message to drive home the point that anyone can use the service. The message is most important for off-line marketing activities and we expect it to be appeal to the elderly or infirm.

It also has an online use. We want people to realize how useful it could be to their parents or anybody who leads medically challenged lives, but cannot/does not use the Internet. As a sub-text, we're also hoping to get people thinking that if its easy enough for the Luddites of this world, its easy enough for them.

Frank - Sorry, our postings crossed so I didn't notice yours until now.

You're right and that's one of the reasons that we don't want to use "breathing". "Alive" is good and makes the point, but my fantasies have me holding out for something great and memorable.

Thanks for the attempt stitches. I need one slogan that stands on its own and says it all, not one that just keeps them reading. That's why "If you’re breathing, you can use HealthMe." is a good example. Another good but unusable example would be "If you’re a Luddite, you can use HealthMe."

All the other stuff may or may not follow, depending on where it's used.

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for the input. The slogan that I'm looking for needs to focus on usability. The fact that it's about health is secondary and doesn't even have to be mentioned. We're using a different primary message for the actual services delivered.

    Best regards,
    Steve

That's the idea! Unfortunately, it's too over the top. We've thought of using 'caveman' in the same sentence, but I suspect that could cause trademark problems.

Here's one way to look at what I'm trying to find:

What are some ideas for XXXXXX is this slogan?
So Simple a XXXXXX Could Use It

It's best to have something mildly amusing and memorable, but something that could not be viewed as offensive or degrading.

My cynical side likes this, but unfortunately it's not appropriate.

So Simple Even Simon Could Use It
That's pretty good, but will it catch attention? Am I asking too much out of a slogan?

Too catch attention, we could turn it into an ethnic slur. :) It has the makings of a Polish joke. Sometimes I wish we didn't live in such a politically correct world, but then again I'd probably be among the first to condemn a slogan like that.
