Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
Need helping with a new slogan/tagline for company thats is now redirecting its activities to more environment friendly and reducing carbon footprints from its products
I was thinking something like this
matching green with zero carbon footprint
Go green or make a diffrence with.......
live green stay green

As anyone got any better ideas???

Any help would be great.

Thanks again.

You have to be very careful about green claims, consumers are beginning to distrust company claims about being green. You have to demonstrate your green credentials, without having a more detailed brief it's difficult to give you slogans/taglines
Why don't you communicate that you are heading towards "Green" manufacturing, rather than claiming you are green. = Aiming for a carbon neutral product range.

We are going to be a green company

    Products of the future

    Our products are carbon neutral

Our Products make a difference to the world

    etc

Consumers are skeptical as Wayne states. Buy beyond that, saying you are green is becoming a non-item. As when I helped found the Co Chapter, US Green Building Council I said, "building and building green" will be synonymous-- they are-- to build to code my green attributes are not optional but required. Your products are saving energy, the low lying fruit of the industry and one everyone understands as it givest the fastest payback

    Going Green, Saving Green
    True Green without the Greenwash
    True Green
    Go Green to Save Green
Go Green to Preserve the Future
    Practical Green
    Everyday Green
    Green That Makes Cents

I did my masters thesis on green marketing and am doing a 3 part article on it that'll be on several sites. (delayed cause I'm honeymooning!)

Everything now is Life cycle analysis. This separates the greenwash and eco-isolationism marketing tactics. Its not enough to market a low voc product- and put it in a wasteful container, made in a country that employs children in inhumane working conditions. Look for orgs like www.fscus.org that requires entire chain of custody-- not only must the product be made (forested in this case), no children can be employed, the indigenous people must be employed, paid fairly, no urea formaldehyde in glues, etc etc.

Its the Triple Bottom Line, people, planet and profit.

To respond to the prior post-- in marketing green, the first thing consumers say is "it costs too much", and that is simply not true anymore. It doesn't cost more. The State of CA adopted the USGBC, LEED criteria for building and allotted an extra margin in the budget for it-- and they didn't need it, it cost less. And that is without the life cycle analysis that greener buildings cost less (I have tons of numbers on this at home) to maintain. Green buildings run today run 75% less than comparable buildings built 40 years ago.
