Updated Business Name Needed For Growing Business

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
We sell print artwork and inscribed artwork as awards, gifts, farewells to Government (White House, Capitol, ATF, Homeland Security)employees, military and large companies that support the government and military (i.e....Lockeed Martin, Northrop Grumman.) The business was started by my father 30 years ago and his name is well known. He was the artist for all the work on the site. However he has retired, and as much as I would like to keep our name as the focus of the business, it doesn't represent the direction I am taking the business. In addition, most of the people who knew him have retired from service. The next generation is coming in. I will be adding new artists and other awards and gifts. We will be GSA approved soon so larger contracts for supplying Government building art are planned for the future. I want to continue to gear to the military, government, business and the general public but on a larger scale. Our website is currently being redone but you can view the current "tired" site at www.cannavarofinearts.com. The site does not show all the amazing framing that we do with badges, medals, pins, inscriptions, etc. The framing (as well as my Dads art) is what has made us successful. I am looking for a name that seems more global but I don't want to focus on just the military. I thought of "Old Glory Galleries", "American Eagle Studios", "National Art Works",...etc. However they seem a little predictable to me. I am open to any and all comments. I don't want to lock myself into a box as we will be expanding our awards , gifts and art lines. Cutesy names such as "Up Against the Wall" and "All Framed Up" are taken and don't represent the elegance of what we do. BUT.....I'm open.....

Phil's suggestions for names seem to be right on track with our "thoughts".

Your assessment HAS to be harsh. I'm trying to run a business NOT run for office. I need the hard line. Your comments about the web site are correct. I inherited the web site with the business. As I said...."it's tired". Your comments are exactly how we saw it. The new web site is under construction as we speak and It will be a work in progress.

Your comments about other art web sites is well taken. I have evaluated about 30 other art sites and plan on utilizing their great research and ideas.

Your assessment is right on target. I would like to talk with you further.
