School's Name And Tag Line - Test

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi all,

I am a consultant for a new business school in the UK willing to establish on the UK and International business education market.

I've got 2 names and tag lines and I am not sure which one could have a positive impact on our target audience.

Here there are the options:
Academy of Business and Commerce (ABC)
Be successful too.

International School of Business and Commerce (ISBC)
Mentoring success in business and commerce

International Business School
Dedicated to your success

I would be grateful if you could give me your onest feedback.

Thank you,
Daniela

    Hello Daniela,

I prefer the second one. International School of Business and Commerce (ISBC)
Mentoring success in business and commerce

Why because it sounds like your global not just local, but I would change "Be successful too" instead of Mentoring success in business and commerce.
    Keep it simple.
    Hope this helps.

    Have a great day!

Not knowing who the target audience is, all the names you have come up with sound simply generic...
If you think about it, this school can be anywhere, since there is no mention of any location, and also be aimed at any level of study, since there's no mention of "graduate" or "undergraduate"
I teach at the University of Chicago, and our business school is the GSB at the U of C.
A well known internationally recognized school, because it has these two components:
    1. University of Chicago
    2. Graduate School of Business
I'll be happy to help you off line.
    Good luck.

I too like International School of Business and Commerce (ISBC) as it sounds more substnatial than the others. I also thing having international in the title will give you a better draw. Especially with the whole global econmy.

I am not really excited about any of the taglines. I guess I think of mentoring occuring on the job or after someone's education.

    How about:
Preparing students for the Global Economy
Creating leaders for the Global Economy

    Hope this helps,
    Mike

    Hi Everyone,

I really appreciate your feedback. You gave me excellent ideas and also, things to think about.

This is a new business school which is going to be launched next year in London.

The target audience will be people who want to further their studies and want to become successful in business, commerce, arts, sports, management consulting.

The school will provide masters programmes (in Finance, International Business, Financial Services, MBA) and professional courses (ACCA, CIMA, CIM, CFA).

The value proposition: mentoring people for success.

Thank you again for your feedback.

I'm just going to put in my vote for Mikee's "Creating Leaders for a Global Ecomony"

It sounds like preperation for sucess in a changing enviroment--implies sucess if you attend.

Unless your school will have an active student placement service and/or work-study program, you're not really mentoring. You're teaching/testing/bestowing degrees, which may help students find (better) jobs.

If you were an establish school, then you could leverage your success rate in your tagline. Until then, you're untested.

As for your various names, they're all in the same vein. Are you really teaching international concepts or are you simply teaching business concepts? Are you focusing on full-time students or full-time employees getting additional degrees on the side?

I am inclined by the second option because it gives the academy the sort of exposure required in the world we live today. Globalization of businesses is here to stay at least for a very long time.

Thank you very much for your feedback.

You gave me brilliant ideas to continue working on my branding project.

I'll be happy to get back to yoy with the final choice.

    Thank you again.
