Help! Insurance Broker Needs Tag Line!

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
Hi All! I am having quite a time coming up with a tag line for my small business! I am an insurance broker that specializes in employee benefits. (broker means that I am not captive with any "one" company... this gives me advantage to compare rates and benefits with numerous companies) I sell health, dental and vision insurance to employers, for their employees. I have a "boring" "wordy" website called groupquotes4u.com ... I need help with that too! I seem to be too wordy.... I was trying to get my website to promote the "added service" I provide in addition to being an "insurance agent". Meaning, I am in it for the long haul... I am NOT a power seller that disappears after the sale.... I will help with the hr functions of a small group (new hire enrollments, cancellations, continuations etc..) however, I think I need to focus on the $$ I am saving the employer groups. I need to stand out from the local agent on the corner. There is NEVER a fee to the employer group... I work on commission from the carriers.
Arghh... Help, please help!

First, your offering (no fee to the employer group) isn't unique. A good employer will care not just what it costs them, but also how the benefit will affect their employees.

As for long-haul/great support, that's also to be expected. No one wants from a fly-by-night salesperson.

I'm guessing that as a new business, you're really focusing on local businesses (rather than national). If so, that's important. What are the needs of your local businesses? Who are they using for their insurance? Who sold it? How much better is what you're offering (if it's not, don't say it is).

If you're not already a member of your local Chamber of Commerce, consider joining for the networking opportunities. That's one of your target groups.

As for your website, I'd encourage you to redo it. As a minimum, I'd suggest making it more corporate looking (i.e., "trust-worthy"). It doesn't have to cost a lot - but it should match the expectations of your target market. A website redo doesn't have to cost a lot, either.
