Marketing Perspective - Which Is A Better Url?

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
We are considering launcing a new venture that promotes memorabilia and tournaments from a man folks call "the king of aces" as he has the most professional golf holes in one (51). The company name will be king of aces. We are concerned that from a marketing perspective, folks won't recognize "thekingfofaces.com" for what it is - a golf realted website. We are discussing the use of holeinoneking.com for clarity of message. Anyone have some input?

while such catchy tags sound great, when written it is all to easy to misinterpret for some else - e.g. of aces, reading as face. You have to include golf in the URL - what about

    Golfholein1.com
    Golf memorabilia in one.com
    Just thoughts

Thanks, the kingofaces always has worried me for that very reason. I like golfholein1.com for it's clarity and brevity, will see what our SEO folks think as well - Thanks..

Great feedback - unless I see some divergence from the last two comments today or tommorow - we're closing in on decision time! Thanks

I like HoleInOneKing.com better as I think it is more descriptive of what your site will be. I am with Phile I think the first would make me think cards. Phil also gave great advice about Capitalizing letters. This makes it much easier for people to understand and remember. Your browser does not care, but the humans do.

You may want to include a tagline like Memorablia from "the King of Aces" to your web site and in the page titles if you think people will be searching for "the King of Aces"

    Another url could be GolfsKingOfAces.com.

    Hope this helps,
    Mike
